West Lothian College appoint new Principal

Livingston James were delighted to support West Lothian College in the appointment of Jackie Galbraith as their new Principal and Chief Executive.

Jackie brings a wealth of experience from working in vocational learning with the Scottish Government and more recently as Vice Principal at Ayrshire College where she had great success in improving learner outcomes, particularly for the students facing the most barriers. Her lifelong commitment to the importance of vocational education in enabling people to develop skills that empower them to be resilient individuals, effective in the workplace and in their communities will be a great fit to the ethos at West Lothian College.

Alex Linkston, Chair of the Board of Governors, said: “The Board is looking forward to working with Jackie and taking West Lothian College from strength to strength after 10 very successful years under Mhairi Harrington’s leadership. We are in a strong position with great potential to grow and are confident that Jackie’s expertise and passion will help us to achieve our ambition of being a college of excellence for our learners, business partners and community.”

Following her appointment Jackie commented: “I am delighted to be joining West Lothian College and look forward to working with staff, students and stakeholders to build on the many achievements of this successful college.
