The Catapult Network was formed in 2011 by Innovate UK. It comprises nine Catapults which are world-leading technology and innovation centres supporting businesses in transforming great ideas into valuable products and services to deliver impact across the UK economy, and enabling businesses to thrive in the global economy. The Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult’s mission is to play a key role in maximising the UK’s economic development growth opportunities, through accelerating the creation and growth of UK companies and jobs in the offshore renewable energy sector.

ORE Catapult uses their unique facilities, research and engineering capabilities to bring together industry and academia, driving innovation in renewable energy. Since its formation ten years ago, the business has grown significantly and now comprises over 200 employees in eight sites, as well as a partnership in China. Throughout this time, it has been chaired by Dr Colin Hood who has now reached his maximum permitted tenure of office.

Livingston James has been appointed to refresh the Board with the appointment of a new Chair to lead the business in its next phase of growth, transforming offshore wind in the UK, and doubling the size of the business within the next five years.

The new Chair will play a key role in developing business strategies, driving new innovations and establishing fundamental external relationships to ensure ORE Catapult has the desired impact on the offshore renewables sector.

Candidates should have a genuine interest and passion for accelerating the creation and growth of UK companies in offshore renewable energy as well as a track record of holding Board appointments within large organisations.
