Livingston James partners with College Employers Scotland to appoint National Bargaining Lead for Support Staff

College Employers Scotland is the body through which the Scottish Government’s policy of National Bargaining is delivered and implemented by the collective employers in the college sector, in partnership with trade unions.

To effectively support our members to achieve their collective ambitions and ensure they have the workforce and resources to deliver excellence for students, we are looking to recruit a new National Bargaining Lead with responsibility for supporting staff negotiations.

Building and maintaining effective relationships with relevant trade unions to develop and secure agreement to support the programme of National Bargaining, the successful candidate will also play a leading role in agreeing and implementing national conditions of service across Scotland’s Further Education sector.

Through the establishment and maintenance of productive relationships with relevant senior sector, Scottish Government and Scottish Funding Council stakeholders, the National Bargaining Lead will ensure the delivery of a sustainable and ‘fit for the future’ college workforce.

 

The successful candidate will be an experienced HR professional and a solution-focused negotiator with the ability to demonstrate a track record of success in trade union negotiations, at either a local or national level. They should also be able to demonstrate relevant experience of, and a passion for, the consultation process. An accomplished communicator, candidates should also possess significant personal drive and resilience and be able to respond creatively to new developments, adjusting priorities accordingly.
