*Please note this opportunity is now closed to further applications. Should you be interested in similar roles and wish to have an exploratory discussion, please contact Sophie Randles at [email protected].

We are currently partnered with Green Generation Energy Networks Cymru Limited (“Green GEN Cymru”), a key player in the UK renewables industry, to appoint a Managing Director. This role offers the opportunity to play an integral part in an ambitious project catalysed by the growing green agenda. This career-defining opportunity demands a professional with passion and tenacity to positively disrupt what has always been done, and a genuine desire to make a difference.

Green GEN Cymru is acting now to build and operate a green energy network for Wales, that will make sure 100% renewable energy can flow to homes, hospitals, schools, businesses, and communities.

The business intends to develop, own, and operate a new 132 kV electricity distribution network in Wales. Delivery of the Green GEN Cymru business plan will significantly enhance the existing distribution infrastructure in mid Wales and unlock the region’s renewable energy development potential, as well as helping to reinforce, and relieve constraints within, the existing distribution system.

The newly appointed Managing Director will lead the business and have ultimate responsibility to the Board and shareholders for the business’s performance. Candidates must have a proven track record of leading teams, building successful businesses, and effectively managing key stakeholders. The successful applicant will also have experience in managing the delivery of large scale infrastructure projects (preferably electricity distribution networks in the UK) and a track record of taking them from greenfield to construction and operation, as well as appropriately managing operational and execution risk.

It is also important for applicants to have a deep knowledge of the UK renewables sector and relationships within it, in order to successfully operate within this market. In addition, candidates should possess profound knowledge of the UK Distribution and Transmission industry and grid connection.

Candidates interested in being an integral part of delivering a market-leading solution to the need for grid infrastructure investment in the UK should contact Sophie Randles on [email protected] for more information. Please note that any direct or third-party approaches will be sent to Livingston James for review and assessment.
