Regional CFO – International PE backed – Glasgow (hybrid working) – c£150,000 plus an Executive Benefits Package
This is an exciting time as the highly successful private equity backed business is very much on the acquisition trail to support its growth ambitions to take from revenues of £500m to £800m-£1b over the next few years. Underpinning this projected growth is a highly fragmented market in the region, and the company is positioning itself as a key consolidator.
The CFO will have responsibility for c.20 different legal / reporting entities across the region. The role will have a hard reporting line into the Regional Managing Director and a dotted reporting line into the International FD. The role will focus on supporting the financial and operational management of the region, particularly related to robust financial reporting and forecasting and the strategic development of the finance function.
The CFO will also partner with other members of the Finance and Operational teams and the International Business Unit management team. The majority of the Finance Team and the Shared Service Centre are currently based near Glasgow, and whilst it is not essential that the new CFO be based in Scotland, it would be preferable. Other main offices include Dublin and London. Due to the geographical spread of the business, travel to stakeholder meetings will be required.
Key responsibilities will include areas of:
Strategic & operational finance:
- Provide financial leadership to the regional management team, shaping and executing business strategy in alignment with group objectives
- Deliver timely and insightful financial reporting, analysis and forecasting to support decision-making
- Drive performance management, including KPIs, margin improvement, cash conversion and working capital efficiency
- Ensure effective cost control and scalability of finance processes as the region grows
Mergers & acquisitions / integrations:
- Support identification, evaluation and due diligence of potential acquisitions within the region
- Lead financial integration of acquired businesses, including systems, reporting and cultural alignment
- Track and report on synergy delivery and post-acquisition performance
Governance & compliance:
- Ensure robust financial controls, compliance with accounting standards, tax requirements and group policies
- Manage risk, audit processes, statutory reporting and tax compliance across the region
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders including auditors, banks, regulators and pension trustees
- Management of legal counsel, overseeing all contractual matters
Leadership & team development
- Responsible for a finance team of c.30 people and direct line management of the Finance Directors, FSSC Finance Director and the IT Director
- Lead, coach and develop the finance teams to operate at high performance levels
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement
- Act as a key member of the regional leadership team, contributing beyond finance
Systems & processes
- Taking a lead role on an ERP implementation, improving financial processes, create efficiencies and drive positive change
The business is seeking a high calibre professionally qualified accountant. Ideally, the incoming CFO will have previous experience of other PE backed businesses so they have an intuitive understanding of the levels of pace, resilience, energy and drive for results required to be successful in this environment. An understanding of a similar multi-site, internationally focused business environment would be highly desirable.
On offer is a fantastic financial package including a salary of c£150k, car allowance (£10k), significant annual bonus, 10% employer pension contribution and private medical cover. The business also operates a very flexible hybrid working policy.
