Ypeople has been at the forefront of supporting marginalised people and communities since 1824, working alongside children, young people, adults and families across Scotland to further our mission of supporting positive change in people’s lives.

Ypeople’s mission is to support positive change in people’s lives across Scotland and they currently deliver services in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Fife, South Lanarkshire, East Dunbartonshire, Orkney and the Scottish Highlands. Each of these areas are unique as is the support provided in them which takes many forms including; mentoring and counselling, tenancy support and housing advice, supported accommodation, and after school care.

As an organisation, Ypeople is going through an exciting time in our continuing evolution. Our new CEO joined us in January and with a recently appointed Chair and Vice Chair we are currently developing a new strategic plan, which will lead the organisation into its bicentennial year. To support us on this journey we are seeking to appoint two ambitious and passionate people to our Board of Trustees, allowing us to gain additional expertise that will be essential to our future success.

In terms of our specific requirements we are looking to identify a Qualified Accountant with strong governance exposure and a Senior IT Professional with relevant business transformation experience. With a strong commitment to the mission and core values of Ypeople, the successful candidates will also need to demonstrate board level understanding of organisational development and planning, experience of strategic leadership, sound independent judgement and the ability to think creatively.

This is a truly rewarding opportunity to join a values-driven charity with a first class staff and leadership team who really make a positive difference to the lives of the people they support.
