With 2018 being the Year of the Young Person, we are delighted to have Louise Macdonald OBE speaking at our next Leadership Conversation entitled “Giving Young People a Voice”.
Louise Macdonald OBE is the award winning Chief Executive of Young Scot, the youth information and citizenship charity. Working in partnership across all sectors, Young Scot supports young people aged 11-26 to make informed decisions and choices, connecting them to their communities using digital and smart-tech – contributing to Scotland’s ambition of being the best place in the world to grow up
Prior to taking the role of Young Scot Chief Executive, Louise had a varied career in journalism before moving to the public sector, specialising in youth volunteering and community enterprises, including establishing a pioneering national programme to promote youth volunteering and social action. In 2015 Louise was awarded an OBE in the New Year’s Honours List for her services to young people.
At this event Louise will discuss why now, in the Year of the Young Person, it is more important than ever to give young people a voice in business. Sharing insights into her own leadership journey, Louise will discuss how adapting leadership style when engaging with young people is essential.
Set against the current backdrop of sustained demographic, economic, and geopolitical change, this session is a must for any leader seeking to build a high performing organisation based on the nation’s future talent pool
