Davis Cup and Team GB Olympic Tennis Coach to Host Livingston James Leadership Conversation
Leon Smith, coach of the Team GB Olympic Tennis Team, and winning Davis Cup team, is hosting an exclusive Livingston James Leadership Conversation in May.
At this breakfast event, Leon will address a senior business audience to discuss his experience in achieving elite team performance on the World’s sporting stage, and the lessons that can be learned by the business community from professional sports coaching and performance.
Leon was named the LTA’s national under-16s men’s coach in 2005 and the under-18s’ coach in 2008, and was later appointed Head of Player Development in Men’s Tennis. He was appointed Head of Men’s Tennis simultaneously to his appointment as Davis Cup captain in April 2010. Leon also served as Head of Women’s Tennis between 2011 and 2013. In 2015, under his captaincy, Great Britain won the Davis Cup for the first time since 1936, beating Belgium 3–1 in the final.
Livingston James launched its Leadership Conversations series in 2015, and has featured high profile speakers including; Scottish entrepreneur and philanthropist, Jim McColl, former CEO of the City of Edinburgh Council, Dame Sue Bruce, STV CEO Rob Woodward, and CEO of the Edrington Group, Ian Curle.
