Livingston James’ client is a UK based, fast growth private equity backed Group of manufacturing and installation service companies. We are partnering with the Group’s shareholders to appoint a Group CFO as they navigate their way through the next phase of growth.

Whilst the technical expertise required to ensure success is incredibly important, the position demands a professional with a positive mindset towards change, and who is hugely adaptable, resilient and will embrace innovation and continued growth in a fast growth environment. Commercial acumen and a genuine desire to add value is crucial.

The environment is fast moving, at times being described as “building a plane mid-flight” however, with that comes the reward of being a key member and a true decision maker in the further development of an already profitable Group.

Requested Expertise:

The Group is now looking to onboard an experienced Group CFO to take ownership of the operational finance requirements, working with the Group CEO and Board on key strategic initiatives and supporting with further M&A and future investment rounds.

The Group CFO position requires a professionally qualified, high calibre accountant who possesses a proactive and commercial approach to financial management. The role requires a range of leadership and stakeholder management skills, along with the ability to add value and drive positive change. The individual should be strategically focused but also very “hands-on” to ensure the accurate delivery of financial information, especially in the short term as the business scales. It is highly likely the individual will have operated in another entrepreneur led business going through rapid growth.

Key experience required to be successful in this process:

  • Prior experience of working for a mid-market PE-portfolio business with a preference for candidates who have been through a PE event
  • Track record of operating at Board level having held the number one finance position within a similar type of environment
  • Experience working within any of the following areas would be desired – manufacturing, distribution, logistics, project management, warehousing, FMCG etc.
  • Successful implementation of an international expansion strategy, setting up or running of operations in Europe

Livingston James is an equal opportunities advocate and positively encourages applications from suitably qualified and eligible candidates regardless of sex, race, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, religion or belief, marital status or pregnancy and maternity.
